CoCOA Gallery Rental Agreement for 2008
This Agreement is

phone_______________, (“Tenant”), and the Colorado Coalition of Artists,
“CoCOA”, 402 N. College Ave., Fort Collins, CO 80524, herein after referred to
as “CoCOA” or “CoCOA gallery”. This
Agreement is entered into by the Tenant
for the use of the gallery space, under the terms and conditions listed
below.

Schedule and Other Information:
We appreciate your interest in showing at
CoCOA and look forward to working with you. CoCOA Gallery strives to make
showing at our gallery a pleasant experience for all artists. In order to maintain
good relations between individuals and members the following conditions for
showing are necessary. This information applies to: Members, Guest Artists, and
Individuals or Members renting the Gallery.
1. Communication: Tenants must connect with at least one
Board Member during the scheduling as soon as possible to arrange details concerning
hanging times, mailing lists & promotions, opening reception, etc.
2. Set-up & Take down: All shows are to be hung by the
artist(s). A Schedule must be made with Gallery
Coordinator for specific install/de-install times. Please note these times below. NO
HANGING DURING OUR MONDAY NIGHT LIFE DRAWING CLASS 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM, or
THURSDAY NIGHT PORTRAIT CLASS at 6:30-9:30PM and ALL OTHER CLASS TIMES, in both
the gallery and workshop space. See
CoCOA Board member for Class scheduling. CoCOA will
not be responsible for works left after the final take down date.
3. Supplies: CoCOA has spotlights and some tools. Any specialty lighting (bulbs) must be
supplied by the artist/tenant. The artist/tenant must supply hanging devices,
shelves or stands. Please provide
labels/show tags and a price list that is available to the public.
4. Changing the Gallery: Tenants must have special permission to
make any changes to the Gallery. This includes the use of open flame, water or
dirt; repainting walls any color other than existing; or changing lighting
patterns or fixtures. All details must be worked out with the board. If you have any questions about your exhibit,
please contact the CoCOA Gallery Coordinator.
The Gallery must be returned to the original condition, by the final
date of de-install listed below. Any and all work, costs, materials
associated with changes/return of the gallery is the responsibility of the Tenant.
5. Advertising: Please contact CoCOA regarding your
public press releases. CoCOA Gallery Coordinator will handle basic advertising
and announcements through our website, local newspapers, our affiliates and
email lists. Postcards or any additional
press releases are to be the responsibility of the Tenant.
6. Commission: CoCOA is a non-profit organization in the
state of Colorado. CoCOA takes a 20% commission on all sales made during a show
in the gallery. All monies are paid to
CoCOA, and the artist will be paid their portion within 60 days.
7. Be aware: Respect the personalities,
artwork and space of other artists. Hang your own work so that it best shows
your talent. Consider how the whole show should look, including decorations and
refreshments for the opening and closing receptions. Be present at your
reception, during the “First Friday Gallery Walk” and during any other special
events/talks to greet your guests and have fun at your show!
8. Gallery
Times and Events: CoCOA’s
hours of operation are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
CoCOA has classes Monday and Thursday evenings, and other times during the
week. Please be aware that CoCOA is a SHARED SPACE at these times. Contact CoCOA and The Artists Nook for class
times.
9. Sales: All monies
will be paid to CoCOA. CoCOA will forward you a check less the 20% commission.
10. Liability: Tenant assumes full responsibility of any
and all liabilities associated with the rental.
All artwork will be displayed at your own risk; every precaution will be
taken to ensure the safety of your work. CoCOA does not have insurance to cover
any lost, damages or stolen work.
11. Alcohol: Alcohol is NOT
allowed to be served during the “First Friday Gallery Walk”. If you wish to have a reception with alcohol,
you may have a PRIVATE PARTY on a different day, or file for a special event
permit with the city government. Any fines incurred due to illegal alcohol
service will be the responsibility of the tenant.
